Oh my, I don't have enough words to tell you how much of a doll this little one is. I considered trying to sneak her into one of the big boxes of stuff I had with me, but her mom's talk of the 3am screaming made me reconsider. But seriously, she was alert and awake and just took everything in. She didn't utter a peep - unless she was talking to me. How could you not fall in love? And look at all that hair! It's screaming for a bow, don't you think?
Warning, image overload! But how can I help it? I mean, look how gorgeous this Momma is. Look what a great couple they make. Look at the gorgeous nursery! Look at all the variety of these images! It is always fun to get try new things outside of what I usually shoot. This Momma had some great ideas and I was more than happy to try them out. And she was more than willing to accommodate my strange requests.

I had the honor of photographing this lovely family today. They have 2 gorgeous and talented twins who made my job extremely easy. And them not running away from me or throwing any tantrums was just the icing on the cake. Not only that, but Grandma and Grandpa were visiting from England and we had the chance to include them in on our session as well. It was obvious how much they all adore each other!

This little guy was definitely just the coolest baby. He was teething and had an ear infection, but you'd never know it by looking at these photos. He was such a trooper and captured my heart. Just look at those big blue eyes and intense expressions and you'll know why.
I went months without 1 single newborn shoot, but apparently I was just at the wrong time of year because it seems like I'm bombarded with them lately. That said, this one was definitely a 1 of a kind sort of shoot - or should I say 2 of a kind? I know that I seem to find a way to slip in a 'why I love photography' sort of comment into each of my session posts, but how can I help it in this post when I am introducing 2 such amazing newborns? There's just something about newborns - and something even better about 2 of them - their scrunchy little faces and baby smells and their skin that's brand new to the world. So, without further adieu, here are Baby M and Baby E. Have you ever seen anything so precious?

I love character. I love individuality. I love discovering what causes people to be individuals, and as a photographer, I love to discover which traits make each client an individual and define their character. Since I primarily photograph children, I know that the quirks and preferences that define their character today could be gone tomorrow. I love to be able to capture their personalities, a reminder of who they were on that day in that stage in their life. And I love the feeling that I have accomplished that as I unload the images and see their individuality shining through.
This session was full of character and individuality. It was an absolute delight, and the images from it are a little outside of my normal images. The rubber boots, the favorite stuffed animal, the posing fairy princess 5 year old, are all captured here and define so much of who these two are at the end of summer 2006. Here are a couple of my favorite captures:
This session was just amazing. Miss V is absolutely gorgeous. She smiled and laughed the majority of the time, in spite of her current state of teething and the fact that this was an evening session. Of course Grandpa's creative entertainment helped a lot, too!
And Grandpa's silly antics were one of the things that moved me the most about this session. Miss V has the most wonderful and loving parents and grandparents that any baby could have. The love and connection that flowed between all of them was amazing.
It's moments and families like this one that makes me love this job. And Miss V's family, I can only thank you for allowing me this glimpse into your wonderful family and for giving me the opportunity to capture it.
